Privacy Policy for Lithica Mapper

I, Jordan Zavaleta, operating under the developer identity GisGeo Dev, am committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how Lithica Mapper (the "Application") handles your information when you use this mobile application for Android.

Our privacy practices comply with Google Play developer policy requirements, particularly regarding transparency in the use of device permissions.

1. Local-First Application and No Registration

Lithica Mapper is designed as a strictly local tool.

  • No User Accounts: The Application does not require registration, account creation, or sign-in to be used.
  • No External Servers: I do not collect, transmit, store, or process your personal data, email addresses, or project information on any external GisGeo Dev servers. All information you create or import remains exclusively on your device.

2. Device Permissions and Data Processed

To provide its core positioning and map management features, the Application requires access to certain device functionalities. This data is only processed locally:

A. Precise Location Data (GPS)

  • What is processed: Your exact geographical location (latitude, longitude, altitude coordinates, and GPS sensor accuracy).
  • How it is used: The Application uses this data only in the foreground and in real-time to display your position on the base map, center the map view, record the location of geological observations (points, lines, contacts, faults, polygons), and calculate coordinates in different Coordinate Reference Systems (CRS/EPSG).
  • Privacy: This data is processed and stored locally within your project's GeoPackage file. I do not track your location in the background or transmit this data to third parties.

B. Access to Device Storage (Files and Media)

  • What is processed: Read and write access to your device's storage.
  • How it is used: This is necessary to import base maps, vector files, satellite imagery, and local GIS packages (GeoPackage, .gpkg), as well as to save and export your created projects, manifest files, local databases, and generated PDF documents locally.

3. Disclosure and Sharing of Data with Third Parties

I do not collect personal data; therefore, I do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties.

All map information, observations, and files created within the Application belong exclusively to you. Data export is only done manually and locally to folders on your own device so that you can share or transfer them using your own means.

4. Data Security

All your map information is stored locally on your device's storage. The security of your data depends on the security measures you maintain on your own Android device (such as screen lock, device encryption, and application permission settings).

5. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Local Data: Since all information is saved locally on your device, you can permanently delete all your projects and map data simply by uninstalling the Application or clearing the application data and cache from the Android Settings menu.
  • Support Requests: Because I do not store your data on external servers, I do not retain any information that I can delete on your behalf. If you have any questions about how to manage or back up your GeoPackage files locally, you can contact me by email.

6. Children's Privacy

Lithica Mapper is a professional geological mapping tool and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect or store personal information from anyone, including minors.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

I reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. If I make significant changes (for example, by adding future cloud synchronization features), I will update this policy and modify the "Last Updated" date. I recommend checking this page periodically to stay informed about how your privacy is protected.
