Overview
Lithica Atlas is a geoscience reference application for Android and Windows, designed for visual consultation of minerals, rocks, micrographic textures, and mineral deposit models.
It functions as an interactive scientific companion to the PetroPyQAPF ecosystem, using the same curated scientific reference content while keeping the public experience consistent across platforms.
Key Capabilities
- Six interface languages: Spanish, English, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German and Filipino. Scientific content availability varies by language; missing translations use English or Spanish.
- Consistent Scientific Content: Uses one curated reference source to keep classifications, descriptions, citations, and terminology aligned.
- Local consultation: Installed catalog information, approved images, tables and search tools remain available offline during a verified session, for up to seven days. First sign-in and renewed verification require internet access.
- Unified Fast Search: Instant filtering across mineral names, chemical formulas, rock families, micrographic textures, and deposit types.
- Google Sign-In: An account is required for access. Firebase manages the profile, access status, consent records and account-linked usage counters. Newsletter subscription is optional.
Privacy & Data Protection
Lithica Atlas keeps scientific content and search text on the device. Firebase receives account data and counts of sessions, active days, searches and record views; the counters do not include search terms or record identifiers. The privacy policy explains providers, retention and deletion.
Availability and responsible use
Lithica Atlas is officially available on the Google Play Store for Android devices and for Windows desktop environments.
The Android catalog requires an initial download of several gigabytes and additional free storage for installation and extraction. Use a suitable connection and allow time for the first catalog setup.
The app is initially offered at no cost, including commercial use. Academic, educational and research use will remain free, potentially subject to verification. Future commercial licensing may be introduced with notice. Scientific references support professional judgment and do not replace independent verification.
